Orlando has over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications industry and an extensive background in operational management of early stage companies. Orlando is currently the Vice President of Airport Marketing at Concourse Communications a Boingo Wireless Company, a leading Wi-Fi service provider and largest aggregator of hotspots worldwide.

In 1997, Orlando was the co-owner and of a regional ISP in the Chicago area and led the negotiation to for its sale to Winstar Communications (now part of IDT) in 1999.

In 1992, Orlando was the Chief Technology Officer at West Indies and Grey Advertising in Latin America. During this time, he was also the franchisee owner for Discovery Zone, an new concept of indoor children’s entertainment, for a 10-store market area in the Caribbean.

Prior, Orlando held several key software engineering and product management roles at Motorola in Arlington Heights, pioneering the commercialization CDMA and earlier on 5ESS and 1PSS at AT&T Bell Laboratories.

He is an Associate Member of the ACI-NA and sits in Board of the Business and Information Technology Committee.

He is appointed by Chicago’s Mayor Richard M. Daley to serve on the board of the Mayor’s Council of Technology Advisors.

He is also on the board of the Chicagoland Entrepreneurial Center, a non-profit organization helping early stage company to achieve sustainable growth.

He is an associate member of the Urban Land Institute and a member of the Chicago Economic Club.

He is on the Board of the Rauner YMCA in Chicago

Orlando led the design strategy of the several initiatives to stimulate private-public partnerships for improving workforce services in the State of Illinois.

He is also the President of the Latino Technology Association, an non-profit organization advancing long-term economic growth through practical education, job creation and entrepreneurship in STEM.

Orlando holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico, an M.S. in Computer Science from Illinois Institute of Technology and an MBA from IIT Stuart School of Business.
