I just completed my 10-day recovery week. Yes, I did manage to add 3 days to one week. This was a longer week and not my best for many reasons including the Christmas Holiday and a nagging chest cold/cough for 4 days that slowed me down. Overall, I find that the combination of Core Synergistics and Yoga X are a great pair to follow as a standalone after completing the program. I highly recommend these back to back. Yoga continues to be one of my favorite workouts, even though I continue to struggle holding some of the positions and balance postures. I substituted Kempo X for several hours of sand play at North Beach.
At this point, I’m less worried about body shaping and more concerned with my volleyball performance. I can feel some dramatic improvements in my game in terms of strength, endurance and recovery. I have not noticed much difference in my agility and jumping. I’m convinced that this workout is just but one important aspect of an overall sports training program. This is a pretty intense program that it gives you a strong foundation for any sport you choose or to enjoy an active lifestyle.
As far as overall shape and conditioning, this program works! I don’t waste time with body measurements, but the photos reveal some visible improvements especially in my arms, mid-section (core) and overall definition. You will likely start to feel mentally drained after one month. Not surprisingly, this workout takes a great deal of mental discipline and determination, far more so than just your physical stress. My diet has improved somewhat. I’m eating healthier and more often. My weight remains the same since I started and I feel more active. I also believe that unless you follow the diet program religiously, you won’t be in the cover of Before-and-After-Fitness magazine. I will continue to be patient and hope for better results this month.
